its been 2.5 months since the breakup.
wow.
ONLY 2.5 months? it feels like forever – we’ve gained so much distance between us, its amazing.
good. distance is good.
the farther we venture away from each other, the better the chances are of us forgetting the ugliness completely.
i do think about him sometimes cuz he’s like in everything i see. his towel is still hanging next to mine in the bathroom (damn smelly now). his shaver, toothbrush and contact lens case is still by the sink. his side of the bed is still untouched… though his scent on his pillow has long faded away…. okay. i WAS sentimental. but now, i reckon im just plain lazy. i will get around to recycling his toilet stuff (maybe use his kickass razor to shave my legs or….?) and washing his bath towel (so it can be mine again) and changing the bloody bedsheets and pillows! LOL. but im queen of procrastination. the only thing i seem to be keeping well to is maintaining/updating this frickin blog! im very heartened by your comments (with encouraging messages and so much love), thank you. you’re very kind.
ive been keeping myself busy. spending time with my family. and building stronger bonds with my friends… thru food. laughs. music. and conversation. the last weekend of the holiday season ended on a schweeeet note.
WARNING: LOADS OF PICTURES!

noticed this this along joo chiat road. i dont mind giving the "reincarnation blessing" service a shot - sekali i reincarnated as an ant how?

our aircon broke down over the weekend so we tried to stay out as much as we could in aircon spaces... like this one. dim sum for lunch.

and i cant say no to XO CARROT CAKE lor! omg. this was yummy but the best is still the one at CANTON-i @ ION.

the epitomy of nonsense food blatantly put together and passed off as a dish. I LOVE. always inclined to order this at a HK cafe. dunno why.

i was craving for a nonya chap chye type of dish (at least thats what it looked like on the menu) but got this instead: BOILED green vegetables with tanghoon with WATER. it was very plain tasting. but cuz im a fan of veggies, i ate some anyway. but really, sorely disappointed.

lovely path leading to the restaurant. Krish serves world cuisine with hints of indian spices and flavours. I LOVE.

that's sara with her best friend anabel (we call her bel). sara's the lead singer of local band 53A and bel is a jazz flutist. both girls are painfully young: under 25. bah.

alot of time to kill while waiting for food to arrive. took a pretty long time considering we were the only ones in the restaurant then...

the orgasmic designer roti john - $12. meat+cheese sandwiched between toasted french loaf, like HELLO? winner!

tomato and lentil soup with prawn creviche - $12. tastes like curry-spiced tomato soup. super intense well-married flavours. i MUST MUST MUST have this each time i dine at Krish.

my STAR DISH: the uber melt-in-your-mouth goodness that was the PORK BELLY TIKKA with tamarind and onions - $14. (its sour and spicy - LOVVIT)

my dessert: VALRHONA CHOCOLATE FRANGELICO with MINT YOUGHURT SORBET - $12. if you're a big fan of dark choc, this is it. its like a very rich ice-cream of sorts, balanced by the citrussy flavour of the sorbet. party in the mouth.

bel and sara shared a PEDRO XIMENIZ PEACHES (ran out of peaches so they got poached pear in red wine - equally yum). this is essentially an uber yummy tea cake (half bread half cake sorta confection) - $12

dina's super interesting combo of sorbets from L-R: MANGO CURRY, SPICED RED WINE and LYCHEE ROSE. mango curry has a nice surprise aftertaste of an explosion of curry flavour. spiced red wine tastes like frozen gluhwein. and lychee rose was pretty straightforward. dina only liked the lychee. but i thought they were all yummy! - $12

dina and rikki checkin out the food board - guests get to put up lil postit notes of good food haunts around singapore.. and guess what we saw?

OMG. sakae sushi is like the scum of japanese cuisine. the "lowest" i'd go to for japanese food in singapore is Kuriya and even thats like if im on a tight budget. WAKE UP PEOPLE! say "NO" to substandard jap food!

then we headed over to Jazz By Southbridge (it was their last night at boat quay before their move to new locale at Esplanade). ordered the best tasting mojito everrrr. its got a hint of cinnamon sugar.. GENIUS! i asked the waiter to pop in a coupla lychees too: enhances the flavours.

drinks were going at 30%-50% off. all food at 50% off. so we ORDERED MORE FOOD cuz it was so cheap! this mother fish and chip dish was as long as sara's forearm! beer battered and uber yummz!

then bel got onstage to jam together with her boyfriend, Leo, who's on trombone (extreme right of pic) -
the night took an unexpected twist and turned out to be AWESOME! awesome vibe at an awesome place. met up with some old friends and made some new ones. overall a wicked end to a fab holiday season. next coupla things to look forward to are the ROCK CONCERRRRTS! first up on January 14th: GREEN DAY. omg. they were on my list of MUST WATCH – i was thinkin of travelling to see them live. but no need liao for they’re coming to singapore! im currently loving this one from the boys:
BEFORE THE LOBOTOMY by Green Day
(from their latest album 21st Century Breakdown)
AAAAAAAAAAAARGGHHH I LOVE GREEN DAY!!! WOOOOT!
(should i be worried that im still loving the emo/punk sounds at the grand old age of 30? i think i’d grow to be an 80 yr old grandma and STILL listening to the likes of My Chemical Romance…LOL!)
the killers are on after on 24th Jan – cant wait. heard its gonna be a visual feast. another one after is MUSE! OMG. they performing at the indoor stadium – FINALLY an indoor venue. lights and effects should be rather wicked. aiyo if you havnt gotten your tickets, go get them now la! the killers are nearly sold out and MUSE is selling pretty fast too. another band im lookin forward to see live… PARAMORE – ive only heard good things about them. used to think of them as a joke/kiddy punk band but ive since sat up and took notice and started takin them seriously. this one is my FAV from their latest album. check the lyrics out. LOVE LOVE LOVE.
PLAYING GOD by Paramore
(favourite track from their latest album BRAND NEW EYES)
